What is the Salesforce AppExchange?

The AppExchange is an online marketplace for Salesforce apps, components and consulting services to help businesses extend the functionality of Salesforce across every department and industry.

When it comes to implementing Salesforce, many businesses do not have in house resources to tailor it to their exact business requirements. A Salesforce consulting partner works as an experienced guide to design a solution, tailored to the business strategy and work with them to embed Salesforce within the business.

To ensure customer satisfaction, Salesforce developed a partner navigator program to help customers find a consulting partner with the right skill set to apply to their implementation.

What does being an expert in Manufacturing on the AppExchange mean?

The AppExchange helps businesses search for consulting partners best suited to their needs, based on their technical knowledge, project experience and customer success.

For customers to find the right consulting partner for their project, Salesforce’s navigator program categorises a partners experience with a product or industry based on three levels. Using the search functionality on the AppExchange, customers can find a partner with proven expertise that is best suited to their requirements.

The navigator program consists of three levels:

  • Level I Specialist: have proven to Salesforce that they possess the knowledge to deliver customer success in a cloud or industry vertical.
  • Level II Specialist: have proven to Salesforce that they have the knowledge and experience to deliver on complex projects in a cloud or industry vertical while maintaining high levels of customer success.
  • Expert: have proven to Salesforce that they are thought leaders in a cloud or industry vertical. They can handle the largest and most complex projects and achieve the highest standards of customer success.

The levels are awarded based on a partner’s achievement with:

  • Knowledge: measured by the number of credentials
  • Experience: measured by the number of completed projects
  • Quality:  measured by customer satisfaction scores
