Salesforce Summer ’25 Release

New Features to Make Admin Life Easier

Salesforce continues to deliver innovation at pace and the Summer ’25 release is no exception. With three major releases each year, it’s always exciting to see what new features are on offer to help teams work smarter and get more value from the platform.

One of the biggest advantages of being a Salesforce customer is having a future-ready system that evolves with your business. From automation to AI, the platform keeps adding practical tools to streamline day-to-day processes and enhance customer experiences.

We are seeing more of our customers turn to AI to improve response times, reduce manual effort and free their team to focus on more strategic work. Tools like Agentforce, which combines Einstein AI with real-time Salesforce data, are helping businesses transform the way they operate.

Over the coming months, we will be sharing a series of use cases on how Agentforce can help, starting with one of the most common pain points: order status enquiries. Read more about how you can automate this process here.

What is new for admins:

Refresh dashboard widgets individually

A simple but highly requested feature. Users can now refresh a single component without reloading the entire dashboard.

Why it’s good:

Less waiting, less frustration. If someone only needs to check the latest figures on one part of the dashboard (i.e. pipeline or open cases), they can do it now with a single click.

How to enable:

Go to Setup > Reports and Dashboard Settings > Select ‘Enable Dashboard Widget Refresh’

Centralise report subscriptions to a shared inbox

Another highly requested feature, you can now subscribe reports to send to a single shared email address.

Why it’s good:

Great for teams or external partners who need visibility of a report but do not require a Salesforce license.

How to enable:

Go to Setup > Report and Dashboard Settings > Tick ‘Allow report subscriptions to external email addresses’.

Then, when setting up the subscription, just enter the shared email (e.g reports@company.com)

Set Org Wide Email Reports

Salesforce Go (Formerly Sales Cloud Go)

Salesforce Go helps you discover and configure features tailored to your instance and is now expanding beyond just Sales Cloud.

Why it’s good:

It is a fast and easy way to see what best practice functionality should be adopted within your instance. Removes digging through Setup and reviewing  help guide articles.

How to use:

Search for Salesforce Go in Setup. You will see a list of features with quick links to enable and configure them.

Build approval processes in Flow

Approval processes can now be built natively in Flow. This makes it easier to manage, reuse, and update over time.

Why it’s good:

No more jumping between tools. You get full power of Flow’s automation, conditions and visibility, all in one place.

How to set it up:

  • Create a Record – Trigger Flow
  • Add the ‘Submit for Approval’ element
  • Use Decisions and Actions to handle approval and rejection paths

If you need help setting up an approval process or want to transition your current ones over to Flows, get in touch, and we can help you.

Improved Flow Debugging

Flow debugging has been overhauled with a clearer UI and more useful runtime info.

Why it’s good:

The Flow debugger is now more user-friendly and efficient. It gives you a clearer view of Records and Record Collections when reviewing filters, sorts and access permissions, which makes it easier to understand how your Flow is behaving and where issues might be.

The panel is now expandable to nearly full screen, which means less scrolling and more room to work. If you need to share the results, all the debug details can be copied in a single click, making it simple to send to a colleague or include in documentation.

There is also a new built-in search bar that helps you quickly find what you are looking for. Just type in a keyword, and the panel will automatically expand the right section to show you the matching details. No more manually opening every card or trying to search to track something down.

How to access:

Open your flow, click debug and walk through your tests with inputs. You will see improved error messages and variable tracking.

Flow Debug UI Update

Improved list view dropdown menu

We are passionate about good list views.  They are a quick win for improving usability in Salesforce. If you need help setting them up, check out our blog: 3 easy steps to enrich your Salesforce Data

The list view dropdown on standard objects has been updated with better scrolling, search, and recently viewed options.

Why it’s good:

Faster to find the right list view with searching and displaying recent list view options. Can display up to 100 list views and more accessible for all users.

Great news – No setup required, it’s already live.

Better visibility before deleting custom objects

When you go to delete a custom object, Salesforce will now show all the references and dependencies in one place.

Why it’s good:

Helps prevent mistakes and gives admins more confidence to clean up old or unused objects.

How to use:

Go to Object Manager, select the custom object, and hit delete. You will get a dependency check screen before proceeding.

Heads Up: Salesforce for Outlook – Retiring December 2007

If your business is still using Salesforce for Outlook, now is the time to start preparing for its retirement. Salesforce has confirmed the tool will no longer be supported after December 2027.

To clarify, Salesforce for Outlook is the legacy desktop plugin that was used to sync contacts, events and tasks between Outlook and Salesforce. It is different from Outlook Integration, which is cloud based and actively supported.

If you are not sure which one you are using, if your team access Salesforce features directly within Outlook, such as loggin emails or creating records, you are most likely already using the newer Outlook Integration.

Salesforce recommends transitioning to either Outlook Integration or Einstein Activity Capture, depending on your requirements. Both options are reliable, actively supported and ensure your business is prepared well before the 2027 cut-off.

Please get in touch if you have any questions about Salesforce for Outlook.

Marketing Cloud Account Engagement – Quick Wins for Admins:

Dismiss Optimiser Warnings:

An easy one, you can now stay focused on what matters by clearing optimiser warnings that are not relevant to your business or marketing goals – woohoo!

New Failed Email Sends report now available:

You can now view a detailed report that shows failed email sends, including the reason for the failure (such as invalid addresses), the affected prospect, and a timestamp.

Why it’s good:
This gives marketers better visibility into email issues, so you can quickly diagnose problems, improve email deliverability, and ensure key communications reach your audience.

The Summer ’25 release includes some great quality-of-life improvements for admins. While they might not all seem like headline-grabbers, these updates can help teams work smarter and make the most of their Salesforce investment.

If you are interested in exploring how you can start introducing AI into your customer experience without needing a huge transformation project, keep an eye on our Agentforce use case series.
